Foreign Secretary Robert M. Persaud visit to Qatar
Foreign Secretary Robert M. Persaud attends the Qatar Economic Forum on behalf of His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana.
Several issues that are of significant interest to Guyana were discussed- such food security, Energy Transition, Global Trade, Sports Tourism and International Air travel.
Notable speakers included, H.E. Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda, H.E. Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo President of Ghana and H.R.H. Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al-Saud Minister of Energy, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
While in Doha, the Foreign Secretary also took the opportunity to follow up some of the issues that were raised during the Official visit to Qatar by His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali.
In this regard, high level talks were held with H.E. Soltan Saad al Muraikhi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar, the Qatar Fund and Lulu’s Supermarket, the largest supermarket chain in the Gulf Region.
Foreign Secretary Robert M. Persaud also joined the staff at the Guyana Embassy in the state of Qatar in observing a moment of silence for the 19 children who perished in the Mahdia Dormitory fire and their families.
