Visa Procedures

The Embassy processes Visa applications for all applicants who are residents of the State of Qatar, specifically, applicants who are holders of a Qatar issued Residency Card/Permit. For all other categories of applicants, please apply using the Immigration & Support Services

Issuing of Visas Tourist Visa **- Single Entry (Three Month Validity) ** The applicant must provide and complete the following:

  1. Complete and submit the visa application form and supporting documents
  2. Deposit USD$25 in the Embassy’s USD Account
  3. Two passport-size photographs with white backgrounds
  4. Valid passport (at least six months validity.)
  5. Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the visit
  6. Return air ticket.
  7. Provide Evidence of accommodation in Guyana. (Hotel Reservation or Invitation letter)

The Embassy has to do the necessary background checks based on the information provided by the applicant. If the information checks out, the visa is stamped in the passport and signed by the relevant personnel and the small Embassy’s stamp is inserted next to the signatory’s name.

**Student Visa - Multiple Entry (Three Year Validity) ** The applicant must provide and complete the following:

  1. Complete and submit the visa application form and supporting documents
  2. Deposit USD$140 in the Embassy’s USD Account
  3. Two passport-size photographs with white backgrounds
  4. Valid passport (at least six months validity.
  5. Name and address, telephone, fax numbers, e-mail address of the registered/accredited institution where studies will be done.
  6. A copy of the student acceptance letter from the registered/accredited educational institution in Guyana.

The Embassy has to do the necessary background checks based on the information provided by the applicant. If the information checks out, the visa is stamped in the passport and signed by the relevant personnel and the small Embassy’s stamp is inserted next to the signatory’s name.

**Business visa - Multiple Entry (Five Year Validity) ** The applicant must provide and complete the following:

  1. Complete and submit the visa application form and supporting documents
  2. Deposit USD$140 in the Embassy’s USD Account
  3. Two passport-size photographs with white backgrounds
  4. Valid passport (at least six months validity.
  5. Evidence of sufficient funds for the duration of the visit
  6. Return air-ticket
  7. Letter of invitation from business entity in Guyana
  8. Bank account statement if the applicant is traveling on personal business visit
  9. If the applicant belongs to a business enterprise, a certificate/letter attesting to its existence or a copy of the legal registration of the company issued by the chamber of commerce or the private sector or country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
  10. If the person is representing a company, a letter from the company introducing the person and indicating the purpose of the trip and that it will cover all expenses.

The Embassy has to do the necessary background checks based on the information provided by the applicant. If the information checks out, the visa is stamped in the passport and signed by the relevant personnel and the small Embassy’s stamp is inserted next to the signatory’s name. With all of the above, the visa applicant arranges to have his / her passport delivered and uplifted by courier or an authorized person. The Embassy does not bear this responsibility.

General Guidelines issued to Applicants

  1. The VISA application form must be completed and sent to the Embassy (you can fill it out scan it and email it), your original passport must also be sent to the Embassy.
  2. Passport should be valid for a minimum period of six months beyond the date of intended departure from the country you are applying from and should have at least two blank pages.
  3. It is essential that applicants fill in their personal details as exactly available in their passports. Mismatch of any of the personal details would lead to non-acceptance of the application. Passport in original and photocopy of the first five pages, visa page and address page to be submitted.
  4. Copy of Residence Proof / ID card issued by country of residence with a minimum of six months validity.
  5. The application form should be filled in English only and ensure that all columns are filled neatly and correctly. Incomplete applications and those which lack details will be summarily rejected.
  6. You must provide the airline ticket reservation so that we are aware of the arrival time and departure from Guyana. Kindly include the details of your intended address in Guyana, i.e. if you will stay at Hotel please mention the Hotel details (name - address - telephones number ) , if you will stay at your friend's home please provide the address, name and contact numbers.
  7. Each visa application is considered on its merits and the Embassy may ask for additional information at any stage during the processing of the application. Submission of application along with prescribed fee does not guarantee issuance of visa.
  8. Validity of all visas is counted from the date of the issue of visa and not from the date of entry into Guyana.
  9. The Embassy may ask for additional documents, if needed, while processing the application for visa
  10. The Visa if approved takes three working days to be issued.
  11. The Visa fee is non-refundable
  12. If you are residing outside of Qatar , kindly ensure that you arrange with the courier service you have used to send your passport to Qatar, to also uplift your passport upon completion from our Embassy. The Embassy is not responsible for any payments to be made to the courier service. It is the responsibility of the Visa Applicant to make these necessary arrangements with the courier company that they will use. Local post is not acceptable.
  13. If you transmit money in excess of the required amount for the visa fees the Embassy will not bear the responsibility / cost for getting this back to you.
  14. Further if you are married to a Guyanese, please submit the evidence of such.
  15. The Embassy does not guarantee the issuance of a visa via e-mail / telephone etc.
  16. Please adhere to all the requirements that have been outlined to you above and in the attachments.
  17. The Embassy reserves the right to reject any visa application without providing a reason. Visas returns are prepared at the end of the month to be sent to Guyana.
