Ambassador Safraaz Ahmad Shadood - Ambassador of Guyana to Qatar
In October 2021 Ambassador Safraaz Ahmad Shadood took up his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary for the Embassy of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana in the State of Qatar. The appointment followed an illustrious career of service to the people and Government of Guyana.
In his decades long career in International Relations and Foreign Policy, the Ambassador has served as a Foreign Trade Officer, First Secretary and most notably Chargé d' Affaires for the Embassy of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana in the State of Kuwait. Schooled in the areas of Foreign Policy, Politics, Diplomacy and Philosophy, the Ambassador provided technical and bilateral coordination to diplomatic activities for the South East Asian Region, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and many other countries.
Through his education at the Universities of the West Indies and Guyana, the Ambassador became enthralled with history, languages, and culture. It is this education and expertise that has enhanced his ability to provide technical support for Government officials and further Guyana’s trade and investment interests.
As a husband and father of one, he looks forward to leveraging his appointment to create avenues for the people of Guyana to pursue educational opportunities, experience the State of Qatar and vice versa.
